Repo List By @davecto

Trending Repos

Nine repos from this week's GitHub trending lists that a solo founder can actually use. Not the most stars. The ones that help you ship, sell, or see how the competition does it.

How This Works

I read GitHub's weekly trending list and Trendshift's, skipped everything that doesn't help you build a business, and wrote up the rest. Every repo is open source. One email unlocks the page, and every other guide on the site.

Nine New Tools

The Tools Change Every Week. The Skill Doesn't.

I read the trending lists so you can skip most of them. The founders who win don't have the most tools. They know what to build with the few they pick.

The Solo Founder Lab · Opening Soon

I'm building a place where you learn to build with tools like these on your own, and sell what you make, with a CTO who's built two seven-figure software companies in your corner.

Lab.exeWaitlist Open

Pick Fewer. Ship More.

  • Weekly CTO office hours. Live, hot-seat style. Bring the repo you're tempted by and the build it's for.
  • Live product teardowns. The stack, the landing page and the pricing, reviewed in front of everyone.
  • A room of Founders. People who are building too, and cheer when you ship.
  • The 30-Day Launch Plan. Validate, plan, build and launch, one week at a time. Members only.

Reel card for No.01, REA by morluto: see a feature in a rival's app and learn exactly how it works.
Card 01 / 09github.com/morluto/rea
01 · Reverse Engineering

REA

▶ morluto/rea · TypeScript · MIT

You see a feature in someone else's app and wonder how they built it. REA gives your coding agent the tools to find out. It inspects desktop apps, JavaScript and Electron bundles, .NET assemblies, websites and native binaries without the source code, explains how the feature works, shows the evidence, and can build a version for your own project. It runs locally, inside Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI.

0
The Headline Number

Lines of the other app's source code you need. REA works from the app as shipped.

4

Kinds of target: native binaries, JavaScript and Electron apps, .NET assemblies and websites.

Local

Where the analysis runs.

363k

GitHub stars on Oct 22, 2026, the most on this list.

Key Ideas
  • Ask in plain English. The README's example: understand how search works in the Notes app, show the evidence, and build a similar feature.
  • Evidence, not guesses. Answers come back with the modules, calls and strings behind them.
  • One setup command. It registers REA with your agent and backs up your config first.
  • Only on software you're allowed to examine. REA's own disclaimer limits it to software you own or are authorized to examine. Read the other app's terms first.
Try This Week

Pick one feature you keep losing deals over, find an app you're allowed to examine that has it, and ask your agent how it works before you design your own.

Reel card for No.02, Security Audit by Cloudflare: get a security review before your first customer does.
Card 02 / 09github.com/cloudflare
02 · Security

Security Audit

▶ cloudflare/security-audit-skill · JavaScript · MIT

You don't have a security team, and your first big customer will ask about security anyway. This is the skill that seeded Cloudflare's own vulnerability-hunting harness. It walks your coding agent through a six-phase audit: map the system, hunt for holes with isolated sub-agents, have a fresh agent try to disprove every finding, then write up only what survives.

6
The Headline Number

Phases, from mapping your architecture to a written report.

~50%

What one run found, of everything repeated runs turned up in Cloudflare's tests. Run it more than once.

3

Verdicts per finding: confirmed, needs validation or rejected.

38.2k

GitHub stars on Oct 22, 2026.

Key Ideas
  • A second opinion on every finding. A different agent tries to disprove each one before it counts.
  • Severity needs impact. Findings are ranked by likelihood and impact, not by a checklist.
  • Runs add up. Each run reads the last one's notes and goes after the gaps.
  • Sandbox it. The README asks for an OS-enforced sandbox, with networking off, when the audit builds or runs your code.
Try This Week

Run it twice on your app before your next launch, and fix everything marked confirmed.

Reel card for No.03, VoiceStudio: voiceovers and dubbed demos without an ElevenLabs bill.
Card 03 / 09voicestudio.sh
03 · Voice

VoiceStudio

▶ debpalash/VoiceStudio · Python · AGPL-3.0

Every launch video, demo and tutorial needs a voiceover, and per-character bills add up. VoiceStudio is an open-source alternative to ElevenLabs that runs on your own machine. Clone a voice from a clean recording, design a new one, dub a video with timed speech, or dictate with a floating widget. It has a local API and an MCP server, so your agent can use it too.

646
The Headline Number

Languages for cloning, dubbing, transcription and audiobooks.

Local

Where it runs. Remote services are optional.

~5 GB

Free disk for the CPU-only build, if you have no GPU.

81.2k

GitHub stars on Oct 22, 2026.

Key Ideas
  • Clone, design, dub. Your voice, a new voice, and a translated version of your demo, in one app.
  • Runs on a laptop. Apple Silicon and NVIDIA get acceleration, and it still works on CPU alone, just slower.
  • Agent-ready. A local API, an MCP server, reusable recipes and watch folders.
  • Check the license. It's AGPL-3.0. Read what that means before you build it into a product you host.

Reel card for No.04, HyperFrames by HeyGen: launch videos and product demos, written as HTML.
Card 04 / 09hyperframes.dev
04 · Video

HyperFrames

▶ heygen-com/hyperframes · TypeScript · Apache-2.0

From HeyGen: a framework that turns HTML, CSS, media and animation into MP4 video. You describe the video, your agent writes it as a web page, and HyperFrames renders it frame by frame. Launch videos, product intros, captions and social clips, made by the same agent that writes your code. My /brag workflow uses it to turn a website into a launch video.

450
The Headline Number

Ready-made blocks, roughly: transitions, titles, captions, charts, maps and camera moves.

7

Skills that teach your agent to plan, write, lint, preview and render.

MP4

What comes out, rendered locally or in the cloud.

69.7k

GitHub stars on Oct 22, 2026.

Key Ideas
  • Video as code. Each video is an HTML file, so it lives in your repo and changes like everything else.
  • Works with your agent. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and others.
  • Media included. A media skill finds or makes music, sound effects, voiceover and images.
  • Same render every time. Output is deterministic: the same HTML makes the same video.
Try This Week

Ask for a 10-second product intro with a title, a screen recording of your app and some quiet background music.

Reel card for No.05, Orca: one founder, four agents, one prompt, merge the winner.
Card 05 / 09onorca.dev
05 · Agents

Orca

▶ stablyai/orca · TypeScript · MIT

Working alone, you're the bottleneck. Orca is a desktop workspace for running several coding agents at once: Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Pi or anything else that runs in a terminal, each in its own git worktree. Give them all the same task, compare what comes back, and merge the best one. A phone app tells you when an agent is done.

5
The Headline Number

Agents on one prompt in the README's example, each in its own isolated worktree.

Any

CLI agent. If it runs in a terminal, it runs in Orca.

Yours

Subscriptions. It runs agents on the plans you already pay for.

102k

GitHub stars on Oct 22, 2026.

Key Ideas
  • Side by side. Separate worktrees, so agents never overwrite each other.
  • Review in one place. Comment on any line of an AI diff and send it back to the agent.
  • Watch your limits. It shows Claude and Codex usage and rate-limit resets, and swaps accounts.
  • Steer from your phone. iOS and Android apps for when you're away from the desk.
Try This Week

Give your next bug to two agents at once and merge the better fix.

Reel card for No.06, CLI-Anything: let your agent drive the apps your business already runs on.
Card 06 / 09clianything.cc
06 · Automation

CLI-Anything

▶ HKUDS/CLI-Anything · Python · Apache-2.0

Your business runs on apps an agent can't drive: video calls, documents, notes, workflow tools. CLI-Anything wraps desktop software in a command line an agent can use, and CLI-Hub is where the community publishes them. Install one and your agent can work Zoom, n8n, Obsidian or LibreOffice the way it works your code.

1
The Headline Number

Command to give your agent an app: cli-hub install, then the app's name.

Hub

A community registry of ready-made CLIs, installed from pip, npm, brew or the app itself.

Ask

App missing? Request a CLI, or build one and submit it.

56.1k

GitHub stars on Oct 22, 2026.

Key Ideas
  • Operations, not just code. Point your agent at the tools you actually run the business on.
  • Community-built. New ones land most weeks, from LibreOffice and Zoom to n8n and Obsidian.
  • Agents check their work. Previews let the agent look at what it made before it hands it back.
  • Start with one app. The one you open most often is where the hours are.

Reel card for No.07, OpenCode: a coding agent you can fork, own and run your way.
Card 07 / 09opencode.ai
07 · Coding Agent

OpenCode

▶ anomalyco/opencode · TypeScript · MIT

The open-source coding agent, in your terminal or as a desktop app. If your company runs on an agent workflow, it's worth having one you can read, fork and change. It ships two agents you switch between with the Tab key: build, which has full access, and plan, which is read-only and asks before it runs anything.

2
The Headline Number

Built-in agents, build and plan, one Tab key apart.

MIT

License. Read it, fork it, change it.

Desktop

App in beta for macOS, Windows and Linux.

220k

GitHub stars on Oct 22, 2026.

Key Ideas
  • Plan before you build. The plan agent explores and proposes without touching your files.
  • Nothing hidden. It's open source, so you can see exactly what it does with your code.
  • Installs anywhere. Homebrew, npm, a one-line script, or the desktop app.
  • A helper for big jobs. Mention @general for wide searches and multistep tasks.

Reel card for No.08, Android Skills by Google: ship the Android version of your app with an agent.
Card 08 / 09developer.android.com
08 · Mobile

Android Skills

▶ android/skills · Kotlin · Apache-2.0

If your app is iOS-only or web-only, Android is the market you're leaving on the table. These are Google's official agent skills for Android development, written for the areas where Google's own evaluations show models get things wrong. They follow the open Agent Skills standard and install into Claude Code, Codex and Gemini.

Google
Who Made It

The Android team, grounded in the guidance on developer.android.com.

R8

An analyzer skill for R8, Android's code shrinker.

Wear

Compose and Material 3 for Wear OS.

9.2k

GitHub stars on Oct 22, 2026.

Key Ideas
  • Made for the gaps. Google skipped what models already do well and wrote skills for what they don't.
  • Picked up automatically. Ask for "Make my app UI edge-to-edge" and the right skill kicks in.
  • Two ways in. The Android CLI, or a plugin for Claude Code or Codex.
  • Still check the work. Google's own disclaimer: AI can make mistakes.

Install the plugin and ask your agent to make your Android app edge-to-edge.

Reel card for No.09, ComfyUI: ad creatives and product shots, made on your own GPU.
Card 09 / 09comfy.org
09 · Images

ComfyUI

▶ Comfy-Org/ComfyUI · Python · GPL-3.0

Ad creatives, product shots and social images, made on your own machine instead of paid for per image. ComfyUI is a node-graph app for running open image, video and audio models locally. Wire up a workflow once, save it, and run it again whenever you need the next batch. App Mode turns a complicated workflow into a simple form, and a local API lets your product call it.

4 GB
The Headline Number

Of VRAM, with 8 GB of RAM, is enough to run even the biggest open models, according to the README.

Offline

The core downloads nothing you don't ask for.

JSON

Workflows save as files, so the recipe behind your best ad can run again.

142k

GitHub stars on Oct 22, 2026.

Key Ideas
  • Workflows, not one-off prompts. Save the graph that made your best image and reuse it.
  • More than images. Video, audio and 3D workflows run in the same app.
  • Desktop app. Installers for Windows and macOS, or Comfy's paid cloud if your machine can't keep up.
  • Check the license. It's GPL-3.0. Read what that means before you ship it inside your product.

What I Left Off

Trending, But Not On The List

Momentum isn't the test. Plenty of this week's biggest climbers are great projects that won't help you build a business. A few I skipped, and why.

01Ponytail · GraphifyBoth still trending, and both already in my Top 11 skill repos.
02Context ModeWorth it, and already written up: the Context Mode one-pager.
03GhidraThe classic reverse-engineering suite from the NSA. REA can drive it for you, so start there.
04KronosA foundation model for financial markets. Interesting research, nothing to ship with.
05RufloAgent swarm orchestration. More moving parts than one person needs to get to a first customer.
06AI Job SearchA neat Claude Code project, built for finding a job rather than building a company.
07TV LaunchersAd-free home screens for Android and Google TV, built with Claude Code. Fun weekend builds, nothing to use at work.
08Free Model PluginsSkipped on purpose: plugins promising unlimited frontier models with no key or sign-up, and a jailbreak pack.
One More Thing

Tools Are The Easy Part.

Anybody can build software now. Not everybody can build a business.

The Solo Founder Lab

Nine new repos a week is a great way to feel busy. The Lab is for Founders who'd rather get customers: weekly office hours with a CTO who's built two seven-figure software companies, and a room of other Founders who care whether anybody buys what you're making.

The Fine Print

Every repo belongs to its authors, and every link goes to the original on GitHub. Picked from GitHub Trending and Trendshift's weekly lists on October 22, 2026. Stars are as of that day. Descriptions, numbers and install commands come from each README, and quotes are word for word. The founder angles and "try this" notes are mine. Check each license, and the terms of anything you analyze, before you build on it.
